A few weekends ago Brandon and I had the opportunity to do something we’ve never done before and it was such a fun experience.

Floating Stress Away - Float Therapy at Radiance Float + Wellness - St. Louis, MO | Ellie And Addie

We were invited to visit the brand new Radiance Float + Wellness Spa in Brentwood, MO. Generally, when we have time away from the boys together we are either doing something work-related or visiting fun places and going, going, going. You know how I don’t like to sit still! :) This was such a nice change of pace and made us realize that we need to book more time to unwind and relax.

Radiance Float + Wellness was super easy to get to right off I-64 and had easy parking. Once inside you already feel relaxed, the space and colors they chose are beautiful and inviting.

We started off in the infrared sauna. I generally don’t like saunas because of the steam and I feel like I can’t breathe. Because this was an infrared sauna I didn’t have any of those problems. The infrared light penetrates several inches into your body and creates heat on a cellular level causing you to sweat and get rid of all those toxins. There was even a port to plug in your phone so we caught up on some podcasts while we relaxed.

After our trip to the sauna, we relaxed for a bit in the most heavenly chairs ever. I wanted to bring one home with us

Next, we tried the oxygen bar. They infuse the oxygen with essential oils for you to breathe in. We’ve never done this before (last time we were in Vegas I wanted to try it!) and we both really liked it! I had one with Eucalyptus (my favorite for breathing easier!) and BTR tried the immune boost.

We took a quick tour of the rest of the spa and saw the halotherapy room (salt room), cryotherapy chamber (I could tell BTR really wanted to try this), hydromassage, sonic wave vibration, vitamin D light therapy, and IV nutrient room. They have so many services and packages available! You can see them all here.

After our tour, it was time for our floats! I really wasn’t sure what to expect and I was a little nervous, to be honest. But they prep you so well and have great resources on their website and we had the best experience. The hardest part was shutting my mind off, but eventually I did and almost fell asleep!

Each person has their own private room with a shower and then a private floating chamber that was so much bigger than I expected! I’ve seen floating spas that are more of a pod and seem claustrophobic. There are 1000 pounds of Epsom salts keeping you afloat in a near-zero gravity experience.

Before floating you take a shower (no conditioner!) and put in earplugs. When you first enter the float tank there are some lights and music to start your session. After a few minutes, the music ends and the lights go out for a complete sensory deprivation experience. It was 60 minutes of ultimate relaxation.

When your float is over the music starts again and the lights come back on to gently wake you up. When you exit you take another shower to wash off all the salt (you can use conditioner now!) and get dressed. Then you can head down the hall to the beauty room to dry your hair and reapply your makeup.

BTR and I had such a nice time at Radiance Float + Wellness and it was exactly what we needed to refresh before a busy holiday season of events and work in the shop! We need to remember to take more time for ourselves and our wellness, which we don’t do enough!
