Mama's Timeout | Ellie And Addie

Real life you guys. I am in the THICK of it. Two kids (2 and under) is no joke. Sometimes I feel like superwoman, you know, like when both kids have eaten and are napping at the same time. And other times I’m the hot mess express and one kid is screaming and the other is… actually, I don’t know where the other kid is because he’s probably unlocking the front door and letting the dog free. Which may or may not have actually happened this week. (Spoiler: that really did happen this week, thank you to our neighbor for saving Ellie!)

So some mornings when I’m feeling like superwoman and everyone has had their breakfast and no longer wearing pajamas, I’ll get bold and load the kids up and drive to get some coffee. Okay fine, we only go through the drive-thru, but that’s still A LOT OF WORK. Because it is not fun strapping kids into car seats who don’t want to be in car seats.

You know what’s a lot more fun and a lot more realistic? Staying in our pajamas and drinking coffee at home. So after the chaos of feeding everyone breakfast, sometimes I like to take a moment for myself and there is no better way to celebrate that moment than with a Starbucks® Caffè Latte K-Cup® pod!

These new K-Cup® pods are legitimately my favorite thing ever. They are made from milk and come in three delicious flavors – caramel, vanilla, and mocha.

And even better than how good they taste, is how easy they are to make. There are literally only three steps. Ready?

  1. Pour flavor packet into mug.
  2. Insert K-Cup® pod into your Keurig® and brew 8 ounces.
  3. Stir.

See I told you that was easy.

After breakfast, the boys tend to get a little stir crazy. So I make my Starbucks® Caffè Latte K-Cup® and we all head to the front porch, where I have a moment and enjoy my hot beverage, and they play with trucks and rocks. It’s a win for everyone.

And I may have heard that they offer two seasonal flavors, Pumpkin Spice and Peppermint Mocha. You know I need that Peppermint Mocha in my life this winter! Oh and don’t forget, you can still collect Starbucks® rewards with Starbucks® Caffè Latte K-Cup® pods, how awesome is that!

So tell me mamas, how do you take a timeout?

That’s a great way to take a Momma Time Out. We need to get back into using our Keurig and k-cups. I give myself a time out with a book. Sometimes it’s nice to have the kids play in the playroom and sit there listening to them play while I read.

    • I am waiting and waiting for the day that I could sit and read a book and let them play!! :)

  • Gosh that pumkin spice k-cup is calling my name :-)

  • I’m not even a coffee drinker, but Keurig’s look so fun to me!!!

    • I was never a coffee drinker till I got pregnant with Jude! Which sounds so weird, so I started with decaf and then switched to regular (and then back to decaf and back again) and basically haven’t looked back!

  • We have quiet time every afternoon for 60 full glorious minutes. Connor gets his iPad and I read. I like having the ability to unplug a bit.

    • Ok so like do you set a timer? How does this work? I think we need to implement this in our house!

While I’m not a coffee drinker, I totally agree that it’s easier to enjoy your treat at home where your kids can play versus wrangling them into the car!

I think every mom needs a MOM time out now and then. It just comes with the territory of having kids. :) _client

I was not successful in finding these this weekend, but I am still on the hunt. Sounds so delicious!

  • Great idea! And that gold spoon is adorable!

    • I think the gold spoon is my favorite part! And I hid it so I don’t have to share it!! ;)

  • They look SO good!
