Lucky Me + A Starbucks Giveaway!

Lucky ME!

I thought I’d share a bit of my Irish history with you all today!

Let’s start with a picture of me 2 years ago on St. Patrick’s Day when I was pregnant with Jude. Why? Well why not!

I had to email my mom to get the specifics down, but here it is!

Patrick Flannery was born in Ireland on March 17, 1849 (yes ON St. Patrick’s Day!). He eventually made his way to East St. Louis and started P. Flannery & Sons which was a concrete company. He married Mary Wright and they had six sons and one daughter. One of their sons was Abbott who married Helen Rapp. They had five children, one being Marynelle. She eventually married Richard Thomas Carter and they had two children, my uncle and my mom. Then my mom had me, and I had Jude! I think it’s pretty awesome we can track back as far as my great-great-grandfather!

And here is a picture of the house that Patrick was born in in Ireland. I believe it is now a sheep barn. My great aunt was able to visit it one time and I hope we can make the trip to Ireland one day also!

And that shirt I’m wearing in the picture above? It’s one of my favorite shirts in the whole world. It’s from Cutter’s (my dad’s bar) St. Patrick’s Day party in 1985, which is the year I was born. So this is my mom’s shirt and she was wearing it the day she found out she was pregnant with me! I can’t wait to wear it again this weekend!

So now you know a bit more about me and my Irish history! I’m excited for the Belleville parade this weekend and then we are all heading to my aunt’s house to celebrate and eat corned beef and cabbage! I’m also going to try and make these yummy treats from Sara’s blog with Jude to take as dessert. Wish me luck melting the marshmallows with a toddler!
